This policy explains what personal data FableMag (fablemag.com) collects when you visit or interact with the site, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
The short version
- We don’t run advertising or analytics trackers.
- We don’t sell or share your personal data for marketing.
- Reading articles doesn’t require an account or set tracking cookies.
- If you comment or email us, we store what you send so we can respond.
Information we collect
When you visit the site
Like almost every website, our hosting server automatically records basic technical information in server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security, fixing errors and keeping the site running, and are kept only as long as needed for those purposes by our hosting provider.
When you leave a comment
If you comment on an article, we collect the name, email address and comment you enter, plus your IP address and browser details to help detect spam. Your email address isn’t published. If you tick the box to save your details, your browser stores cookies with your name and email so you don’t have to retype them; these last for one year.
WordPress may create an anonymised version of your email address (a “hash”) and send it to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture. Gravatar’s privacy policy applies to that service.
When you email us
If you contact us at editor@fablemag.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to handle your request, such as a correction.
Cookies
FableMag doesn’t currently use advertising, analytics or social media tracking cookies. The only cookies you’re likely to receive are the optional comment cookies described above, and login cookies if you’re a site administrator. If we add any other cookies, we’ll update this policy first.
Embedded content and links
Articles link to other websites, such as official pricing pages and sources. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you leave FableMag.
How long we keep data
- Comments and their details are kept as long as the comment is published.
- Emails are kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.
- Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider for security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or to object to how we use it. To make a request, email editor@fablemag.com. We’ll respond within the time required by applicable law.
Children
FableMag is a general-audience publication and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page if our practices change, for example if we add analytics or advertising, and change the “last updated” date above.
